La Manga Club: 26 January 2015 - After four months in operation, the "Leadbetter Golf Academy" has become one of the best in Spain.
Since last September when David Leadbetter himself opened the academy that bears his name, the academy has arranged more than 2000 classes. All in the capable hands of his instructors Juan Lorente, Adam Young and Laurence Brotheridge.
Such has been the demand for classes by both hotel guests and residents of the resort, that the instructors requested the addition of a fourth professional. Anthony McCarthy, specializing in sports psychology and Sciences, joined the team at the academy in January.
In addition, classes can now be taught in English, Spanish and French.
The academy also offers a Club repair service to its customers and also through innovative and effective video, you can learn how to improve your swing using the best tools to lower your handicap quickly. Not just technically but also through the psychology of the game.
The building that houses the academy, has 4 separate classrooms and are named after legendary golfers closely linked to La Manga Club, such as Severiano Ballesteros, Gary Player, Arnold Palmer and Dave Thomas. These classrooms are fully equipped and professionals from all over Europe come to prepare their students during the winter months while enjoying the warm temperatures of the area.
This prestigious school, not only attracts golfers from Europe but includes elite students from as far away as India and Kazakhstan. The academy is currently developing a graduate program for elite golfers, similar to IMG Academies is in Florida.
