Description: In an exclusive private community, away from the hustle & bustle of the coastline, yet still within a few minutes of Campoamor beach, lies the new 18 hole Championship course of Las Colinas Golf & Country Club. Situated in 10,000 hectares of Mediterranean woodland, this resort lies in a secluded valley in the southern part of Alicante between the town of San Miguel de Salinas and the coast, with sea views of the Mediterranean and Mar Menor. The par-71 course is designed by Cabell B. Robinson who is well renowned in the golf industry for designs such as La Reserva in Sotogrande, Praia d’El Rey in Portugal and La Finca de Cortesin on the Costa del Sol, which was the venue for the Volvo Matchplay event in 2009.
The championship course is set amidst orange and lemon groves, giving a beautifully traditional sense to playing golf there. So what about the course? The more elite golfer can take on a challenge of the 6337 meters from the back tees, but with five different tee platforms on each hole, golfers of all skill levels will enjoy their game here. The large greens are fast, undulating and sometimes intimidating, but unlike many new courses, Las Colinas can boast true putting surfaces, that are kept to impeccable standards. Other facilities on offer at Las Colinas Golf & Country Club include a clubhouse with bar & restaurant, terraces, golf shop, and well appointed locker rooms, and other sports facilities such as tennis & paddle courts, and a gymnasium. The large driving range with natural grass tee areas provides fantastic practise facilities and here you will also be able to sharpen up your game by using the large putting green, practise bunkers, and separate chipping green.
