Originally the golf course was designed by Dave Thomas as a 9-hole course, however Mar Menor is now set to extend its golf course from 9 to 18 holes. With the new extension to this popular development it will eventually boast a Jack Nicklaus 18 hole golf course, a sports centre, tennis courts and a new commercial centre.

The Mar Menor Golf Resort is located on the site of a former citrus orchard, and is designed around the focal point of the social and leisure centre and the main club house. The whole development is in secluded private surroundings with 24-hour security. There are wide avenues and streets linking gardens to parks and golfing greens. There are exclusive shops, restaurants and a supermarket home delivery service. There is even a nursery school for the very young.
