The 52-year-old five-time major winner has had four operations and recently made his first public appearance since the start of his treatment."

Elaine writes "A new golf course is under construction in Jumilla, Murcia. Alexia Golf will be a par 72, 18 hole golf course, and will weave its way through the natural terrain of creeks and lakes. The course consists of six par 3s, six par 4s, and six par 5s. The back nine are the shortest but contain the most water hazards with water coming into play on the 15th, 16th and 18th."

The first of these opened towards the end of 2007 at Roda Golf & Beach Resort in Murcia. Future projects will also see the development of a PGAs of Europe Training Academy and PGA Golf Academy at Corvera Golf & Country Club, due to open in 2010."

NickH writes "The golf course at Albatera was scheduled to be completed towards the end of 2007, however, the latest news is that this development has been placed on hold. The Spanish developers, San Jose Inversiones, were placed into administration in July 2008, the company had failed to secure full planning permission for Albatera and other sites. Then the bank stopped lending. Today, the Albatera Golf and Country Club consists of a few show homes, a row of apartments and nothing else."

course is expected to open next year, 2009, but the Range opens on
February 14th - perfect for all us golf lovers! There are 24 bays at
the Range plus a putting and chipping green.
