    Alamo Golf Society

    The Alamo Golf Society was started in February 2005, under the name of La Manchica GS. It was formed from a small group of golfers living in the Tallante, La Manchica and Las Pallas area that simply wanted to get together to play golf on a regular basis.

    Camposol was the course of choice in the early days, followed by the Academy course at Hacienda del Alamo (HDA). As La Manchica GS attracted more and more members to it, on Thursday 29th September 2005 the inaugural meeting of the La Manchica GS was held. At the meeting officers were elected to run the society, and to agree a joining and subscription fee. After electing the rules and handicap committee it was also decided to change the name to Alamo GS.

    Membership is currently at around 35 and they would welcome others wishing to join. They are looking to increase their membership, so if anyone would like to join, please contact Keith (secretary) or John (treasurer) via the Forum.

    They are also interested in knowing if another golf society would like to get together for a golf day or tournament.

    They meet informally every Thursday at the Hacienda Academy Course at 9am, where they split up into groups and play once a month either at HDA championship course or one of the other courses in the area. Presentation nights and dinners are held every 3 months.

    Club Murcia have recently met with the Alamo Golf Society, and they're a smashing bunch. Keep an eye out here (and in the Forum) for more details.
