La Torre Golf Resort by FOG GS

The society has just played it's February competition at La Torre Golf Resort. Most members will have taken some of the course home with them as a souvenir in the form of sand in their shoes! Gavin Elbourne was in the bunkers that often he said that he felt like Montgomery chasing Rommel at El Alemein.

The course was in fine condition considering the amount of use that it has had during the club's opening, promotional two months. Congatulations to the course owners for providing such a good package at exceptional value for money. The buffet lunch included in the price was wonderful. It remains to be seen how popular the course will be when the promotion period ends.

It is the first time that anyone had needed to catch a lift at a golf course from the car park to the club house.

There are some lovely holes on the track and the apartments on the urbanization although close, are not overly imposing.

Three little niggles though. There need to be more rakes in the bunkers, more litter bins and the course starter should be told not to allow 'strangers' to cut into society booked tee times.

Apart from these issues, the staff that we met were very friendly and helpful and made our stay very welcoming.
